Homemade Chocolate Syrup

Servings: 2 cups

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 c. cocoa powder
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Mix cocoa powder and water in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Heat and stir to dissolve cocoa powder.
  3. Add sugar and stir to dissolve.
  4. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. (Watch out for boil overs!)
  5. Remove from heat and add salt and vanilla.
  6. Let cool; pour in a clean glass jar and store in refrigerator.
