One of the best drinks on a hot sunny day is chocolate milk. I think all my children would agree! Whenever I make this chocolate syrup, my children all beg to have some! Even my husband wants some, and he’s not usually one to go for any other beverage besides soda. I love drizzling this thick syrup in a tall glass of raw milk. Okay, well it’s more like pouring, since I love mine extra chocolaty, but I made it, so why not?
While this recipe is made from white sugar, which I try not to have in large quantities, I make this as a rare treat, so I don’t mind too much. One day, I’d love to find a recipe that uses honey or maple syrup, but not today! I’m just enjoying this recipe as is!
One thing to be careful about is to make sure you have a large enough pot. This recipe easily boils over, so make sure the pot is much larger than you think you’ll need! My favorite way to store this chocolate syrup is in a pop top bottle, making it really easy to pour!
So if you’re looking for a delicious chocolate syrup recipe to replace the ones from the store, this is it! I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does!
